For this tree removal I will be breaking in my new titanium tree spikes from Buckingham –

I’m trying them out on a double pine that is too close to the sidewalk and has branches growing into cable lines. Of coarse I have on my Teufelberger

TreeMotion climbing Harness w/ lanyard Buckingham Rope Grab Length Adjustment Device. I was using a Buckingham saddle, but it didn’t feel that secure or comfortable. The treemotion harness fits nice and it gives me more maneuverability when I’m climbing around in a tree. I decided to use my Echo CS330T tree saw over my stihl MS 193T tree saw. I like both the saws, but the Echo is generally my go to saw. I just got a new Echo CS 355T top handle tree saw w/ a 16 in bar, and I can’t wait to try it out. I will be breaking in my Echo CS 355T Chainsaw soon. This was a fun climb, and the spikes were great. It was a easy removal which was nice so I could get used to the tree spikes. Everything went great the tree came down safely even though I was right next to some cable lines.

Cullins Service is always looking to get the job done more effectively and efficiently without jeopardizing the quality of the work. That and we like to play w/ heavy equipment, but what guy doesn’t. So we got a leaf plow and mounted it to our Husquvarna Zero Turn. We also turned our van into a leaf catcher and attached a Scag Giant-vac to our trailer. The van leaf catcher works great except the unloading of all the chopped up leaves that were blown into the van going like 800 miles an hour. You can see that in the video. The Leaf Removal setup is fairly unique, but effective. We effectively cut our Leaf Removal jobs by more than 1/2.

This year we acquired a Ford F350 Super Duty. We then ripped off the bed and installed an EZ-Dumper. Now I’m going turn that into a leaf catcher which will make things a lot easier on the dumping part. I’m going to document that process and share w/ everyone as well. I tried looking everywhere for ideas and help making a leaf catcher on the back f a truck. I didn’t have much luck so I am going to design it myself and share w/ others. Seeing we started by using tarps w/ a couple blowers and the van I’d say we come a long way. As hard and time consuming as it was using the tarps I’m glad we did it. It makes us appreciate what we have now.

This gentleman was a neighbor of the house next door. He needed a landscaper and we were in the right place at the right time. He wanted to sell his house and his realtor recommended some curb appeal. Look it up curb appeal helps to sell your house. If your home’s curb appeal makes a great first impression, everyone — including potential home buyers will want to see what’s inside.

This client didn’t want to go crazy, but he wanted it to look good. We started trimming the trees away from his house. You always want to keep tree branches at least 12 – 19 inches away from your house. You could scratch and damage the house and insects and rodents can easily get into your house, just to name a few. We also removed some branches of the neighbors that was coming over into his yard. We also trimmed a tree to open up his driveway area. Finally we removed a dead pear tree that his grandfather had planted many years ago, and that was it for tree work. Of course we used the echo CS 330T and our new Stihl MS 193T.

We then removed all leaves, debris and bushes that were to be removed. We also trimmed up some bushes and tied some ups well. We weeded out the flower bed and god rid of all the clutter. I wanted the flowers and bushes to pop, not be lost in a mess. After the cleanup we started planting the flowers and bushes. We wanted to add color to the flower beds.

The realtor didn’t want anything done to the grass, so we could only mow it. Oher than 4that the house looks great and is now on the market.

Cullins Service Tree trimming in Allston

Cullins Service got a call to remove some dangerously close branches to a roof in Allston. A job like this with the branches so close to the house is tricky,  but Cullins Service was up for it. We got the job done w/ the right tools and the help of some carefully placed ropes to keep the branches away from the house and lower them down safely. We like a challenge and this was no exception.

We got to use our new echo pole saw attachment to our PAS-266 w/ 2 3 foot extensions. She worked great. The PAS has proven to be an invaluable tool in our arsenal. We also got to use some of our climbing gear. Some ropes, harness and various other cool things. And of course we used the Echo CS 330T chainsaw.

We took down 4 main branches and a few secondary branches. Got them safely away from the roof and cleaned it up a bit. The job was finished without a hitch and everyone involved was happy at completion including the roof.

Getting ready to sharpen and clean the chainsaw by Cullins Service

Getting ready to sharpen and clean the chainsaw by Cullins Service

How to Sharpen a Chainsaw Check Depth Gauge DIY Echo CS 330T Cullins Service

We at Cullins Service believes that if you take care of your equipment that it will take care of you. Same thing   w/ customers and well pretty much everything else in your life. So if you get anything out of this entry take those words of wisdom and apply them to your life. Anyway lets now apply them to your chainsaw.

This chainsaw is a Echo CS 330T. It’s a top-handled 14 inch climbing saw. She has been very good to us, and there is nothing more I like to do than keep her in good shape. This time it’s cleaning her up, checking er over for worn or broke parts, sharpening the chain, and checking the depth gauge. I’m performing these tasks on a Echo CS 330T, but the same principles apply to most chainsaws in general.

Cullins Service sharpening chain w/ hand file

In this DIY How to sharpen a Chansaw I will show you how to disassemble your chainsaw to clean her out. I don’t go into detail about it, maybe in another video. I will show you two ways to sharpen your chainsaw. How to do it w/ round hand files and w/ an Electric sharpener. I know there are more, but these are my two methods.

What You will need

    • -Chainsaw
    • -A pair of gloves
    • -A round file. (Sized to match the pitch of the chain.)
      • -For both 1/4 and 3/8 inch low-profile chains, use a 5/32 inch file.
      • -For a 0.325 inch chain, use a 3/16 inch file.
      • -For both 3/8 and 0.404 inch chains, use a 7/32 inch file.
    • -A 6 inch flat file
    • -A file guide (Helps hold the file at the correct height and orientation)
    • -A depth-gauge
    • -A Vise or A stump vise

or

    • -Flathead Screwdriver
    • -Socket & Socket wrench or The proper Scrench Tool

Cullins Service Leaf Removal and Cleanup Service Needham Property

Cullins Service Leaf Removal and Cleanup Service Before

Cullins Service Leaf Removal and Cleanup Service for one of our Needham properties. Cullins Service provided our full Leaf Removal Service for this great property. We brought out our 2 Echo PB-250 Blowers, JRCO Leaf Plow mounted to Husqvarna Z246 Zero Turn and our new Scag TLS20W-29BV Giant Vac. Obviously we started blowing in the back. In most cases trying to move large piles of leaves can be difficult and time consuming so we brought our JRCO Leaf Plow mounted to Husqvarna Z246 Zero Turn. It plows massive piles of leaves anywhere real quick. This property had plenty of leaves to plow. The plow moves most of the leaves, but leaves a few behind. Not really a problem. The blowers make short work of that. When all the leaves are brought to the front either by leaf plow or blowing it’s

time to vac them up. When we started out we used to use tarps. We filled them and stuffed them into the van. This year we came packing the big guns in the form of a 29hp Scag Giant Vac. We converted the back of the van into a leaf hopper (a gallery of that process will be available soon), and mounted the Scag Giant Vac onto our trailer. It’s a great setup because we can still fit plenty of equipment on the trailer. We saved a great deal of time using the Scag Leaf Vac. It sucked the leaves right up.

After Cullins Service finished our Leaf Removal Service there were also some flower beds to clean out. We removed the dead vegetation to make it look better and make room for new growth next year. We also mowed the grass which needed to be done and helps pick up any leaves left over from

the leaf removal process. Finally Cullins Service finished off by edging the walkway and sidewalk to give the property a nice fresh finish.

Cullins Service Landscape Trimming, Cutting and Shaping Bushes Wellesley Property

Cullins Service Landscape Trimming, Cutting and Shaping Bushes Wellesley Property

We have done and are doing a lot to this awesome Wellesley Property. This time Cullins Service is Trimming and shaping up some bushes. A rather large bush in the front and some bushes on a inclined island right in front of the house. I like doing bush trims and shaping because it immediately makes the property look much better. Cullins Service used our EchoHC-152 21.2cc Hedge Trimmer with 20″ Blades. I like using this trimmer because it’s lite I have greater control over it and get right in there to trim and shape up some bushes. We also used our Echo Pro Attachment Series w/ Articulating Hedge Trimmer Attachment for the high hard to reach areas. The job goes a lot easier when you have the proper tools to do the job right.
